365

Well, I've always wanted to do the 365 Photo Challenge. Something about daily capturing our life intriques me. My prayer for this year (and every year) is that the Lord would work in our lives, that He would refine us, that He would grow us, that He would bless us, and that I would respond in faith and knowing truly that His ways are better than mine. So.......... I'm not sure how this will go, whether I'll stick w/ it, but I think I will certainly give it a try. Not sure if anyone is still out there or whether y'all have given up completely on this blog (can't say that I'd blame you,) but welcome if you're new and thanks for sticking around if you one of my dear blog friends.

Honduras

I know an update is waayyyy overdue, and one will be coming soon, I promise. But first I wanted to share a letter from my daughter with you and ask you to pray about any help you can offer.

I am writing to tell you of a mission’s trip that, Lord willing, I will be
going on this summer to Tegucigalpa, Honduras. The main portion of our trip will
be spent in the neighboring mountain village of Ojojona. We will be finishing
the roof to the church that we have been working on since February of 2007, as
well as pouring a concrete floor. Previous to the building of this church,
Calvary Chapel Tegucigalpa was meeting in a chicken coop. We will also be doing
on-foot medical missions in Ojojona. We will do activities with the local
children such as a Vacation Bible School and soccer. We will be going at
the beginning of August and will be there for two weeks. The cost of the trip is
$1200, most of which is airfare; considering that our diet will consist of
beans, cheese and rice and we will be staying right in the village.

The people of Honduras are incredibly receptive to Christ and the Gospel.
The culture is a very hospitable culture. This is a way for you to support not
only foreign missions but also practical service to the people of Honduras. I am
asking you to consider contributing to this mission either financially or
through prayer. If you would like to support me financially your donation
can be mailed to me or I have set up a paypal account (see button at
the end of this post). Your support will mean not only a lot to me, but also to
the people of Honduras.

Sincerely,
Kahli

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and
ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in
Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. Acts 1:8

a very (very, very, very) overdue update

1. My creation, 2. Living room decorated for Christmas, 3. Stars and stuffy trees, 4. Handpainted ornaments, 5. Handpainted ornaments, 6. Handpainted ornaments, 7. Living room decorated for Christmas, 8. Candy Canes, 9. Candy Canes, 10. Altered Advent Tree, 11. Altered Advent Tree, 12. Dining Room Mini Tree, 13. Stars, 14. My tree, 15. My tree, 16. My tree

Yes. I'm still alive.

No. I haven't been abducted by aliens.

Maybe. I will keep blogging.

I have been so busy and content in my new little world. My mom (and someone else who I can't seem to remember) both commented that my life is so simple. In a good way. Not in a Paris Hilton kind of way... but I digress. I have to agree it is. Since moving down here shopping is pretty much none existent (actually there are a large number of awesome little stores), but no quick trips to Bangor to hit Target, SuperWalmart, and Old Navy (interupted by a run through Sam's Club for free samples to hold the kids over.) There is no more tv, thankfully there is internet. Things are simpler. Days somewhat blur, but I don't think I can remember a time when we have felt more content or focused. It is an awesome thing to know, despite what anyone may say, that you are right where God wants you. It's awesome to have your heart changed and for Him to pour out His love into you for people and needs.

We have been busy fellowshipping (it's amazing how often we get together with the other two families that moved down here)... true fellowshipping. Sharing the word, sharing blessings, sharing burdens. Laughing together, sharing truths. Max is in "hog heaven" with all the boys that have moved down here (5 altogether) and loves having his "best friend" three minutes away.

I have been busy with lots of crafting in setting up our new house, Christmas decorating, and now sewing for gifting others. I just started a new parttime job this week. It is my first job out of the house in years. I'm a little nervous (it's not brain surgery by any means...but you know) but excited to meet new coworkers, and people within our community.

We have had visitors, including the Jannsens (http://www.livelightlytour.com/) and loved having plenty of room to host people. When Sara was here she redreaded my hair (I had done them two weeks prior, but they were very loose). So, as of this Friday they will be seven weeks old (here they are at one month). I am loving them. The ease, the differentness, so many things.

Anyway, that's the update for now... the kids are great , Dane is great (and actually been working really (ie 5 minutes) from home.... major blessing...never before been like this), Bella is getting BIG, and Maizie (surprisingly) likes Bella and our hardwood floors.

I will try and update a bit more regularly. I suppose right now, I'm questioning the purpose of it. Perhaps, as Nancy said, it's simply to keep in touch w/ my online friends.... which is enough. But if you don't hear from me.... drop me an email.... apparently it somehow works ** wink to Mel**.

Grace and Peace dear friends---
Jess
